Davis Eye Center was the first in the area, and is still one of the few to offer laser-assisted, bladeless cataract surgery. Utilizing the state of the art LenSx femtosecond laser, Dr. Davis is able to provide patients with computer controlled precision as it automates some of the most challenging steps of cataract surgery. The laser replaces the traditional hand-held blades to optimize all incisions, correct astigmatism, and fragment or cut the cataract into smaller pieces in preparation for removal. These steps, which were previously done by hand, can now be performed by the laser for an enhanced, reproducible surgical procedure. Patients choosing this laser technology can experience refractive-like outcomes not routinely achievable with traditional cataract surgery.
Intraocular Lens (IOL) Options
Once the cataract is removed, every patient requires an IOL to replace their natural lens. At the Davis Eye Center, we offer many choices for lens selection, including multifocal or bifocal IOL’s, astigmatism correcting toric IOL’s, and monovision options. We truly want to make your visual goal a reality. Dr. Davis will discuss these options with you and make a recommendation based on your desired visual outcome. For example, achieving independence from glasses following cataract surgery is now a viable possibility with our advanced technology.
